Candidates enrolled in the program must complete all the requirements of the program within one to two academic years.

4. Admission Requirements:
To be eligible for admission to the B. Ed program, a candidate must have:
i) A minimum Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent degree from a recognized institution.
Candidates shall be selected for admission in the B. Ed program on the basis of his/her academic records and/or if necessary. On the basis of their performance in admission tests.
5. Aim and Objectives of the Program
The aim of the program is to produce educational professionals and effective practitioners. The specific objectives of the program are to help the learners to acquire:
o Sound professional knowledge, skills, values,-a sense of commitment, norms and attitude required for performing their roles and responsibilities as educational practitioners.
o Applicable competencies on appropriate scientific teaching-learning and assessment strategies.
o Knowledge and skills for effective leadership, management, supervision and monitoring of educational programs.
o In-depth knowledge and insights about recent developments in the field of education.
o Appropriate perspective and values for performing their respective professional social and national roles effectively and participate actively in research and other professional activities.
o Skills and attitudes to apply into practice.
6. Degree requirements
i) Completion of minimum 36 credits
ii) Passing of all courses individually and maintaining a minimum GPA of 2.50
7. Academic Year, Semester and credits per semester
Each academic year is divided into three semesters. During a semester each course of 3 credits will meet 3 hours in a week.
The number of courses to be taken by a candidate during a semester is 12 credits or equivalent courses.
8. PROGRAM STRUCTURE AND DURATION:
The duration of the study, Bachelor of education (B.Ed) in the department of education will be a 1 year program.
